Journalist Ahmet Şık’s new book
‘Ambush/New Owners of the Government’ writes about Fethullah
Gülen movement’s blacklist records in police
organization and an expert’s acknowledging the fabrication of a document in Odatv case.
In the book Şık shows how evidence to frame him was created ad hoc
Journalist Şık
was arrested and accused of being part of the so-called Ergenekon
plot, in which an alleged clandestine ultra-nationalist organization with ties
to military and security forces is said to have plotted to use terrorism to
overthrow the government.
In his book ‘The Imam’s Army’ which was
confiscated before its publication, Şık wrote about how the Gülen
movement was organized in the Turkish state after the 12 September coup, how it
took control of the police organization, how it eliminated deprecators with
conspiracies and how they created evidences behind closed doors. Prime Minister
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had compared Şık’s
book originally entitled “The Imam’s Army” to a bomb.
The 358 paged new book,
which was published by Postacı Books and
introduced by journalist and author Umur Talu, consists of documents presenting details about a
large number of police officers who were blacklisted while serving for the
Action Force Police Department of Ankara. The blacklist documents in the book
show that blacklisted police officers are assigned a grade between 1 and 5 in
connection with their relation with the movement. The book also consists of
illegal practices in Odatv case, the examination
of the news the court presented as evidence and writings by many journalists.
Journalist Şık
also presents in his book an important detail about himself and proves his
argument with an expert opinion. Şık writes that a
document which was put forward as the basis of accusation against him was
created short – around 103 minutes – before the police raid targeting him.
‘Ambush/New Owners of the Government’
also consists of a very important document about former MIT (National
Intelligence Organization) official Kaşif Kozinoğlu who suffered an alleged heart attack in Silivri prison on 12 Nov 2011, ten days before his first
trial in court. Şık says that this document which
has been kept hidden and not manifested in Oda Tv case will leave investigating authorities in a
difficult situation.
