A Greek surprise

Natural gas will be transported to Turkey from the island through a 40-mile pipeline, from where it will then be transferred to Europe. It turns out the conclusion was reached that it would be impossible to build a pipeline from Cyprus to Greece due to distance and physical obstacles.

A message from Christofias: If piece is achieved on the island then the natural gas found will be transferred to Turkey via a pipeline. Even if peace is not reached, then the natural wealth will be shared between two societies.
Stefanou, speaker for the Greek Cypriot Christofias administration, stated "that the natural wealth discovered in the Mediterranean does not solely belong to us, but also to the Cypriot Turks" during a briefing in Athens. Stefanou went on to state, "Even if a solution to the Cyprus issue is not reached, all of Cyprus will benefit from natural wealth.

In addition to this surprising message from the Greek administration, it appears there may also be an interesting plan for natural gas on the administration's agenda. According to Minister of Energy Andoniandou's project, if a solution is reached for the Cyprus issue, then a natural gas pipeline will be built running from the island to Turkey.
